Ring of hands; circle always empty
Leave a lasting epitaph: “The acting Queen of Purse Strings”
I surmise your eyes are rolling glibly
Pithy sighs that can’t betray the tissues on the car seat.
Round the room a plastic page
When you bend is when I break.
Burn the bridge at either end,
When you break is when I
Winter creaks, reflections on a window,
Looking through the mirror as you’re miming back to cradle
Gathered here; bluebirds in the briar field,
It’s just the name you gave to me I call
Round the room a plastic page
When you bend is when I break.
Burn the bridge at either end,
When you break is when I bend
To your will and to your health.
In your wavering of hands that
Slap your back, they ebb and swarm,
When you end the drape gets torn.
Junk Drawer lead the pack, swerving into unsettling territory - I love this band's sheer unpredictability. I remember their gig at Output where they followed an excellent set by The Bonk. These guys are the cat's pyjamas! Ursula's Crow
Cermony's Ross John Farrar experiments with synths, bass, & percussion to make music similar to that from the '80s homemade tape scene. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 30, 2023
Wonderful to see Irish musicians putting out something as fresh as this, even if Bitch Falcon's influences are front and centre. The album is a fantastic mix of shoegaze and grunge (and even dream pop if I may be so bold), and it all comes together in one tight, thoroughly enjoyable package. derringerhk
